Project Brief

The objective of this project was to deliver a comprehensive, 360-degree digital transformation for the CSeal team by migrating their core business operations previously managed through emails, spreadsheets, and Tally into a unified, integrated system powered by Odoo.

The implementation aimed to leverage Odoo 17 across multiple companies within the group to streamline key processes including CRM, sales, purchasing, inventory, invoicing, and finance. Given the dual nature of their operations, spanning both manufacturing and trading, some customizations were required to bridge the gap between Odoo’s out-of-the-box features and the specific business workflows unique to CSeal.

The solution was deployed on-premises using Odoo version 17 and included a combination of standard and custom-developed modules tailored to meet the client’s operational needs.

Data Management and Tracking Issue

Relying on spreadsheets and Tally made it difficult for the team to manage real-time data, track inventory, and generate accurate reports. This slowed down decision-making and affected operational efficiency.

Historical Data Clean-up and Import

Legacy data from Tally and spreadsheets was cleaned, normalized, and mapped to Odoo structures. Redundant and inconsistent entries were filtered to ensure data accuracy.

Custom Scripts for Data Clean-up and Linking

Python-based scripts were developed to automate data validation, transformation, and relational linking between customers, products, transactions, and journals.

Custom Module: Spreadsheet to Quote Builder

A custom quoting tool was built to convert pre-configured spreadsheets into dynamic Odoo quotations, maintaining familiar workflows for the sales team.

Tailored workflows were implemented for order lifecycle, approval processes, and role-specific interfaces.

Budgeting setup for tracking planned v/s actuals

Configured budgeting tools to track planned vs. actual performance across departments, integrating with analytic accounts and cost centers.
