Our client, a leading global technology supplier with diverse business sectors, need to build a comprehensive digital catalog for their auto-parts manufacturing sector.

We developed an online portal for managing over 80,000 SKUs using Liferay DXP and Commerce, integrating with the client’s PIM system. The solution featured upselling, cross-selling, improved search with ElasticSearch, and custom React JS portlets, resulting in 2X website traffic and enhanced user engagement through an intuitive, brand-aligned interface. 

Project Brief

A leading global supplier of technology and services, our customer has four business sectors: Mobility Solutions, Industrial Technology, Consumer Goods, and Energy and Building Technology. They offer innovative solutions for smart homes, Industry 4.0, and connected mobility. This project is for one of their manufacturing sectors that is focused on auto-part at global level. They are looking to build a digital catalog that provides an initiative user interface for users to explore vehicle accessories and parts.

Solution Roadmap and Architectural Design:

SKU Import and Customization:

Imported 80000+ SKUs from proprietor PIM system to Liferay commerce' product catalog with custom import scripts.

Upselling Strategy Implementation:

Utilized Liferay's upselling mapping for products to provide related vehicle parts for users on the portal.

Cross-Selling Implementation:

Utilized Liferay cross selling to show nearest car service centers based on user's location.

Product Categorization:

Categorize each part and mapped them into a common group.

Multimedia Integration for Marketing:

Attach catalogs and other multimedia (image, YouTube videos) details to the part/product and use it for marketing purposes wherever needed.

Performance Optimization:

Extended Liferay's caching mechanism to improve the data loading time.

ElasticSearch Integration:

Heavily utilized ElasticSearch for search, listing/pagination through the site.

Custom Theme & Branding:

Created custom liferay themes and pages for mapping Liferay sites with customer's brand identity.

ReactJS Portlets:

We have created custom React JS based portlets for blazing fast user experience.

Integration of Commerce Features:

Integrated Liferay Commerce's Related Products, Up-Sells, and Cross-Sells for the customer's business needs
