Developing a mobile application for a leading Transportation & Logistics Company

Detailed insights

About Customer

Our customer is in the transportation and logistics business that manages parcels on behalf of Amazon. Established in 2015, the client has over 600 drivers spread over 8 different depots.

Our client's daily management operations include the inspection of over 500 vehicles twice a day. The inspection results are documented on a form comprising 5 sections: Front, Rear, Driver Side, Passenger Side, and Cabin, each containing a series of relevant questions. Each question necessitates a simple checkbox marking by the Driver, leading to around 100 questions spanning all 5 sections.

  • A mobile application for vehicle inspection with user authentication with email and password, including a password reset option via OTP and display of vehicle details upon login.
  • Creation of new inspection records for drivers, involving selecting points, navigating through form sections, marking responses, entering notes, capturing photos, signing off, and submitting data to the database.
  • Creation of new inspection records for managers, selecting depots, checking vehicles, responding to questions, capturing images, signing off, and submitting data to the database.
  • Driver Inspection Report displaying inspection results with key fields like date/time, journey point, VIN, status, and number of issues, with the ability to view reported issues in detail.
  • The application should operate offline for form completion when connectivity is limited. Deliverables include user flow and screen designs, a mobile application with defined functionalities, and project milestones for design, prototype, integration with Odoo, and deployment on iOS and Android marketplaces.
