Managing Multiple Schools with Intranet Portal Using Liferay DXP
Our client, a leading educational institution in the UAE with over 60,000 students and 40 schools, needed to modernize its operations.
We addressed their challenges by developing a comprehensive digital solution, including a public website and intranet portal, to enhance communication and collaboration. The new system features dedicated portals for students, parents, and faculty, improving access to academic records, schedules, and internal communications. By integrating Liferay and Single-Sign-On systems, we streamlined processes, increased engagement, and facilitated digital growth for the institution.

Project Brief
With over 60,000 students, our client is one of the leading educational ecosystems in the United Arab Emirates. Starting with just three schools in 2018, they have since established over 40 schools. The institution is dedicated to creating the best opportunities for teachers and faculty to empower students.
Despite being one of the largest school chain institutions in the country, our customer used to operate traditionally. The school had limited digitization due to the absence of a student portal, faculty portal, parent portal, and school management system. The institution aimed to implement a public website and intranet portal to drive digital growth and enhance collaboration efficiency.
Business Needs & Challenges
Students couldn't access their academic records, schedules, and other critical information directly due to the absence of the student portal. Moreover, they faced multiple challenges, including communication breakdowns, low engagement, missed deadlines, and lower performance.
It was challenging for parents to stay informed about their child's academic progress. Additionally, parents were unable to access their child's grades, attendance, information about parent-teacher meetings, and schedules.
The unavailability of the school's intranet portal made it hard for faculties and teachers to collaborate internally or communicate with students. Since faculties couldn't keep reports and records of students handy, they failed to personalize learning for their students.
The institution couldn't share important news and events without a reliable content management system. Also, the school couldn't effectively collaborate or communicate with the public. It was challenging for schools to attract new students and faculties.
The absence of a school management system caused challenges with manual processes, time-consuming tasks, administrative inefficiencies, lack of transparency, limited engagement, and unequal access.
